irhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhlllllllllllllllllllllllllllllljkkkkkk
As pointed out to me it was about time for an update of my blog, so here goes!
I’m doing pretty well at work, everything — or at least most things — are a part of my routine now. Of course there is always some customer asking a question I have never gotten before or I face something else new. Right now I’m hauling my way through 8 consecutive days of work and it’s all morning shifts – dammmmn. This will be the second day of this batch, so as we speak I’m not even halfway through :/ But I’ll be alright, I just have to go to bed a tiny bit earlier than usual *groan*. Today I’m determined to hit the sack at 10pm-ish.
The second thing I have to tell is that I got admitted to studying the master’s program in the Japanese language and culture at FKF!! I was soooo relieved when I got the letter a few days ago. School starts 27.8 apparently, so I’d better get ready :)
I just came back home from my first day at my new (summer)job! There’s sooo many things to learn, but I suppose it won’t feel like much when I actually know it by heart in a few weeks (hopefully?). There are work logs to be filled in, reservations to make, telephones to answer, e-mails to reply too and of course checking people in and out from the camping area. On top of that there’s of course lots of things involved with the cash register and some other minor tasks. A big thanks goes to Joonatan for being such an awesome teacher and finally I also have a boss who’s actually likable, very much so.
So yeah, I need some time to reload my braincells now! Evening shift tomorrow, then I’m free until Saturday. The week after this one will be absolute mayhem concerning work hours, but I’m happy as long as the money keeps coming in. Ka-ching!
Yes, I am now of age in the US. Another way to look at is that I have traveled around the sun 21 times. Pretty neat huh?
In the morning I had an exam, Novel Into Film. Ugh, it was tiring to say the least. First four two-page answers on questions regarding the analysis of specific scenes from the moves we have discussed during class, including character analysis and so forth. Then on top of it all two three page essays on various subjects, I chose to write an essay about a statement claiming making novels into film was useless because the two are such different mediums and the second one was an in-depth analysis of Alden Pyle in Greene’s The Quiet American.
After I got back home, which was around 3 p.m. my mom and dad came over to drink some coffee and whatnot. They gave me a new mobile phone, a Nokia 2760, nice! I had not wished for anything, but of course I liked the gift. I also got some coffee cups and coffee plates from Arabia’s series called Arctica (I figured I could start collecting, a very nice and clean design).
The rest of the evening was spent eating at a restaurant and then later on I saw the newest Indiana Jones movie (I’ll have to write a review later I suppose).
